Hayleys Offers ‘Work From Hotel’ Working Vacations To Its 31,000 Employees

Though cross-border tourism has come to a standstill due to the pandemic, domestic tourism has been booming. The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) even chose to highlight domestic tourism through the 2020 World Tourism Day, which fell on 27 September.

To mark the event, the Hayleys Group—a diversified conglomerate with interests in nearly every sector of the Sri Lankan economy, announced that all of its 31,000 employees can now enjoy a working vacation from any Hayleys owned or operated hotel around the country. To help its employees make the best use of their novel working environments, the Group has made sure to upgrade its resorts by adding numerous facilities such as Zoom rooms.

Hayleys Chairman and Chief Executive Mohan Pandithage said that the Group wishes to appreciate the hard work and commitment shown by their employees during the challenging 2019/20 financial year by inviting them to experience the properties that they themselves have helped build into strong brands.

While employees of the Hayleys Group will receive special rates for stays under the ‘Work from Hotel’ scheme, the Group’s leisure arm—Hayleys Leisure, is also granting guests the chance to avail themselves of a range of attractive deals. The offers are valid at The Kingsbury and the Amaya chain of hotels that Hayleys operates.

At The Kingsbury, a double room is on offer for Rs. 15,000 inclusive of a Rs. 10,000 credit that is redeemable on F&B, and a weekend stay including Sunday brunch is on offer for Rs. 14,000. At Amaya Lake and Amaya Hills, weekday packages are on offer for Rs. 5,500 (half board) and Rs. 6,500 (full board) per head, while weekend packages are Rs. 6,500 (half board) and Rs. 7,500 (full board). Amaya Oliphant and Kandy Bungalow are offering stays on a half board basis for Rs. 9,900 and on full board basis for Rs. 11,900 per head, per night. That’s not all though. Guests who choose to stay two nights or more can unlock an exclusive rate of Rs. 9,900 nett per head per night on full board basis.
